Hey John It's me 62 under a new, more fitting, name for the site. 71F3
I went over to the upholstry shop and clicked that picture I promised. This is what my radio looks like installed. I can help you with the install, but you'll have to bring the bugger up here. The rear deck wasn't completed, so you can't see what I was talking about with the rear speakers yet. I also bought some 4 X 6" fronts today. Reese is going to fit them in the doors and recess them. Still not done yet. . . . . Another week it looks like

If you want to do something simple, cheap and removeable to retain the car's stock sound system while you search for a replacement radio, you can easy do what I did. find yourself a pair of decent used speakers (you may even have some lying around your house from an old stereo system) a cheap portable radio, some Velcro adhesive strips and an AC adapter for your cigarette lighter (you can get one at Radio Shack for about $60, and it comes in handy for a lot of things). Put the Velcro on the bottom of the speakers, and set them on the floor in the back seat; they'll stick to the carpet and won't slide around. Then, just run the power cord from the speaker to the AC adapter and plug the output cable into the cheap radio.
Depending on the type of speakers you use, you may end up with a much richer sound quality than you had stock, and it will fill the car with music without disturbing the peace. If the components you use are small enough, they will not look junky or out of place, and can be easily removed in 30 seconds should you plan to race the car, have it worked on at a shop or sell it. BUT DON'T SELL IT! From one "mob staff car" owner to another, that's a sweet ride, man!

Hah Butch You copy Cat. LOL I got the same rear speakers, and almost the same radio. . . Curious. What is that in the clock spot Oil Pressure?
Yep the 69 and 70 dashes are the same. How did you support the radio in the back? Ahh Never mind, I saw. I made two brackets like a shelf and bolted them into the original mounting holes in the front. But I did mine with the dash in the car [ Edited Sun Dec 11 2005, 10:51AM ]

Yep, homemade oil pressure guage.....
I took the F-body cop guage I had around here & modified the clock delete plate to fit in. Wanted an oil pressure guage & didn't want to pay a premium for an original even if I found one!

Well as soon as my car can make the trip as in not die on its way up to see you, which i hope will be able to do soon... Maybe u can help me get it all set up. Schools ending for winter break and im gonna have more free time. So anyway, I purchased a new unit, yesturday... SONY CDX-GT10,
Liked how it looked... Mostly simple, and mostly black matches the dash well too, plus its got an aux hookup incase i ever get one of them portable MP3 things... (you never know)
I also got a pair of speakers of which i hope one will work to replace the stocker.
I'm not selling this car, she has way too much potential, and apparently I like a challenge.

You'll definitely see the Fury and the 62 Dart. . . The 300H is in Florida being restored, the 59 Saratoga is there too, on deck for a restore, the 62 New Yorker is in the midst of a frame off also, and the 66 is sitting in Oregon. But I have plenty of pictures!
I guess I'll have to slide down there and look at this choke problem before you come up here.
