I have a 440 with 28" radiator. What kind of electrical cooling fan(s) would you recommand to replace the stock mechanical fan + shroud? The bigger the better? [ Edited ]

I guess my first thought was "why". My 440 came with a 22" rad, no shroud and a standard fixed steel fan and it never over heats. Are you into racing and want to reduce weight and reduce power loss?

If you must
Flexlite has a great 2 fan 2800 CFM fan that fits nicely. But you will need to make a couple of brackets to mount it on the 28" rad. It has to be shifted to the right a little to clear the battery box correctly.
Other than that. . . It has electronic controls. I am impressed with it actually. I have a pic of it somewhere on the forum. I'll edit in the link. Summit Racing was the best deal I found on them

I'm cleaning up my engine bay. The stock fan works really fine with the rebuilt radiator, even at 99F outside and idling right after a highway drive of 100mph, it cools down well.
But its quite bulky, and the mechanical fan prevents me from routing the cooling hoses for my propane regulator away from the engine. So that's why I'm looking at other possibilities

I just picked up an electrical fan assembly from a 99 LHS, the runor is they fit very well and do a good job. I have wired it up on the bench and it does seem to really move some air! A couple other bonuses are less drag, more horsepower and it is typical to pick up a couple mpg in effiecency. My goal is mostly for better cooling while idling.
