looking for something that fits well, is stock looking, I do not mind having to trim a bit. Would love to hear your stories, recommendations or places to stay away from, etc., and if anyone has paid extra for the mass backing aND IS IT WORTH IT or not or should I just be looking to use the regular padding.
Working on my car's floor, should be done in a week or so!

ACC is the only decent brand I know of. I suspect others re-label them and sell them under their name as well. That said, the ACC carpet I have in my Fury is nothing to write home about. The heel pad is very poorly located and in several areas the molding just doesn't fit the actual floorpan -particularly in the rear seat region.
ACC sells a special backing as an option. Rather than the usual clear 'glue' the carpet is backed by an 1/8" thick layer of black rubber. I think it was around $65 extra. I bought it and wish I hadn't. While it does add insulation, it also makes the carpet much harder to work. It adds enough thickness that it affects the fit in areas like the sill plates, too.
I'd give ACC a B- but then I don't know anyone better, so if you grade them on a curve they are the best!!!!

I bought some ACC carpet recently. I spent some time researching & from what I could tell in my searches, ACC is the supplier to everyone. I have not reached the install part of my jouney yet. But out of the box yes a B-. Took just under 2 weeks 2 arrive, Ohio to E. Wa. It looks to be of good quality. NOT factory but what is? Ordered mine through http://www.ponypartsplus.com/. She was the best deal I could find on carpet, floormats & headliner. Cost was around $400 for everything. Floor Mats Look Awesome! Headliner came from another vendor. !stop Before you order, GET SAMPLES, they are Free! I found the light blue carpet my car came with was nothing like their offerings, so I went with Navy Blue. Good Luck!

from what it sounds like, the only choice I might have is ACC, which doesn't thrill me. I want it to fit well and min hassle. I assume they send enough padding to cover the flr as it was factory?

It's become the fashion to criticize Chrysler production back in the 60's....especially by people who weren't even alive back then. But the fact is many, many pieces used back then were of excellent quality. Carpet sets are a great example. The factory carpet fit the cars like a glove and lasted forever with minimal care. The sets they make today are not even close.

anybody know why the ACC website has carpets listed @ $357 and everybody else lists carpet for 150-$200(mostly), esp since most are selling ACC carpet anyway?
Also, will i need to buy padding as well or does that normally come with the carpet? [ Edited Sun May 20 2012, 07:42PM ]
