On my 66 300 2DHT i'm getting water in the rear passenger footwell if i leave the car out in the rain. Doing a search hasn't helped nor has the manual. I'm guessing the rain is going down the rear side glass not draining and emptying into the rear footwell. The rest of the car is dry as a bone How and where does that area drain

There are drains along the bottom seam of the fender skin. However I don't think water running down the window can get to the foot well since there is a steel bulkhead between the edge of the seat and the window. I'd be looking at the seal around the rear window since water entering there can run under the seat to the footwell. I'd pull the rear seat and the trunk mat to see what is really happening.
Check the drain holes in the bottom of the rear quarter, and along the rockers. Poke some coathanger wire up the holes to dislodge any debris that may be blocking the drain holes.
The next thing is more likely to be the issue:
If you took the interior panel off for whatever reason, check to see that the plastic sheet that covers the inner frame under the panel is properly installed, and that the bottom edge of it is tucked into the slot that runs along the bottom. If not, any water that runs down the inside of the frame from the quarter glass opening will simply make its way onto the passenger foot well rather than draining to the outside.
Unforunately, one has to pull the seat, the shroud filler pieces, the rear package tray to safely remove the side panel to see... [ Edited Wed Jan 18 2012, 01:00PM ]
