@62 Chrysler: 1969 was the last year for the VIP, 1970 was the first year for hidden headlights on Sport Fury, S/23 and Sport Fury GT. And the Gran Coupe, of course.
In 1970, even the Fury III 4-door sedan came standard with only the slant 6. All Fury III hardtops and the convertible came standard with the 318.
In 1972 you could order concealed headlights for your Fury III. I haven't heard of any previous Fury III's with them factory original - which doesn't mean they didn't put them on some anyway.

Thanks for the correction. I haven't gone back to the book since this all started. I have traditionally been a Chrysler/Dodge Man, owning my first plymouth is 30 years. I remember driving my dads 71 fury when it was new. But over time, forgot what REALLY happened back then
