I always had trouble with the passenger side sticking just as the car stopped. No matter what I did, I couldn't get that kink worked out. Once I swapped to '73 discs I haven't had one problem.

Yeah, the VIP grabs the passenger side first, my '67 Sport Fury did the same thing. Nothing I did could stop either of the cars from doing it.

Dad's '68 Fury III ate front drums and shoes for the first couple of years that they had it. The dealer even called in a factory rep to look at the car and they couldn't figure it out. Finally, they started going to a local well-liked garage for repairs and they removed the automatic adjusters. That apparently solved the problem.
I also remeber reading an old Popular Mechanics magazine where they used to list factory service bulletins in their "Repair Clinic" monthly column. In one issue they mentioned a service bulletin covering '65-'68 C bodies for poor drum brake performance.
I was curious to see if anything changed for the '69 and up front drums and they did change the design of the automatic adjusters. Maybe that was the key to the problem.

Interesting. Would the '69 automatic adjusters work on the '68?
