All you guys that've been around a few years like me, do ya ever think about how many Mopars (and for that matter, any muscle cars or classics) you owned during your lifetime, that you thrashed, cut up, thoroughly abused, completely destroyed, and/or sold for cheap...and think about what they would be worth now?
Had we only known that the '70 Cuda that we dumped on someone for $800. after it threw a rod, could've been our early retirement. who wouldda figured that someone would eventually pay more for it than some people pay for a new house?

Yea tell me about it! I had a 1957 Chevy that I gave away for $150 that was only in 1984. A 1959 ford . a 1959 Edsel left in a field, a 1964 Pontiac Bonneville sold for peanuts and a 1967 Chevy impala convertible that I really wish I had now sold that one for $1000 in 1972. A 1964 Mustang convertible needed a new frame .And one lonely little 1957 Plymouth with, the push buttons on the left side.

No one ever knows what a car might be worth. I sold my '70 Challenger, 225 slant, A 230 trans, for $950 in 1987. The body and interior were very straight. I have often wished I had that car back.
My Dad sold a '49 Chevy truck for $100 in the early 70s. Two months later they were going for 2 grand.
You never know.
However, I think it is insane what some people are paying for Mopars today. There were massed-produced, for the most part poorly built cars, that were not wanted in the numbers of Chevys and Fords. Yet, today, some guy will come forward and say, "I have a 1 of 57 Hemi" whatever, as if it were a Ferrari 250 GTO! Unlike a handmade Itallian car, there were only so many Hemi's made because no one wanted them!
I love Mopar, but this current trend in pricing is madness! It's like comparing a Ronald McDonald scribble with a Picaso!
I know I've just pissed some of you off, but we need to wake up and declare the truth.

"I know I've just pissed some of you off, but we need to wake up and declare the truth" Well not really, speaking as someone who was there at the time, GM had nice interiors, Ford had nice styling, but the Mopars had the best engines. My brother in-law bought a 70 GTO 454 vert at the same time I bought my Fury. Granted the GTO was a darn nice looking car, never the less the Fury walked all over it. Thinking back, the only car that cleaned the Fury's clock was a 70 Olds 442. That was one fast car.
So I agree with you, I don't think may Mopars were bought for their styling or fit and finish.
OK I'm an older guy. Here are the cars I had when I was young and wish I had today. 51 Hudson commador 8 (Scrapped), 56 Hudson Hornet (Scrapped), 55 Plymouth Savoy 2 Dr. (Burned up), 58 Dodge SW (Dukes of Hazard into a swamp- abandoned), 64 Plymouth Sports Fury Vert (Sold for a song to a neighbor), 70 Cuda 426 (Made a bundle, wrecked 2 weeks later-Burned, Driver OK) This was all before I was 22 years old! I paid 10 Bucks for the Hudsons, 15 for the 58 Dodge, $25 for the fury, 800 for the Cuda.
After that is was common B and C bodys Family shtuff. You know Kids, no toys [ Edited Fri Nov 18 2005, 10:08AM ]
