I have a 1966 Fury and would like to find the color code tag for the car. Does anyone have a clue where to look? I didn't find it under the hood and only see a VIN plate on the driver's door. <span class='smallblacktext'>[ Edited ]</span>

I found the color tag, I'm just blind. The tag says KK1Y under "paint" and L1T for "TRM" and PL41 for "BDY". Any ideas what this means? <span class='smallblacktext'>[ Edited Wed Aug 04 2010, 06:21PM ]</span>

thanks for the info. It's hard to find. I thougt KK1 was the turpquoise according to the paint chip chart, but why does it say KK1Y? Somethings may be a mystery forever.

My 66 Chrysler paint code is KK1K which is turquoise metallic, the KK1 refers to the body itself, the last K (or Y in your case) refers to the upper door frame color. On the build tag it looks like KK1Y but on the build sheet it says KK1 for paint then the next block is Upper Door Frame, so KK1Y. Hope this helps.

Looking at the color chart in more detail, the first letter is the accent or roof color, the second letter is the basic body color (KK-1) is single tone, light turquoise poly. The code "Y" is "bronze poly" for the racing stripe. I don't see on either of these sheets where it mentions door frame. Do you have a paint sheet with other information that you could post?
