Cruisin around doin work things, and what do I spy getting pushed into a local hotrod shop? A shiny red '66 Fury. Has some bigger 17 or 18" rims on for the time being.
They were locking the shop by the time I swung around to get a better look but did talk to one of the mechanics working on it.
It's in for frame times, mini tubs, and a 496 engine swap. He was figuring 650+ hp.
Gonna head down there Monday and see if I can get some pics...

We've got only one contender for the fastest Finnish C-body. Today the vacation begins, and I can start concentrating on the car a little more. Because of missing internal engine parts, we must forget the turbos for this summer. Instead, we will put the car together anturally aspirated with an engine out of my old grocery getter. Still lacking the converter and flexplate, and there is a million undone things, but we will be at the track within a month. I just started building the headers last week, drivers side is ready and I think I'll get the other side ready this weekend. Depending of how the ordered turboconverter will work with the naturally aspirated pump gas engine, It's hard to predict the performance, but I think running 10's with it should be very much possible. Of course it's still hard to estimate the weight, because tehre is still some parts and fluids missing, but the car will weigh way less than what we expected. In its current form, without fuel parts, radiator and electricity it weighs 3060 lbs without driver, so it should be less than 3500 ready I guess.
