Yep! Glen got it right! YES.....that MM! Mike & Co. did a great job on my engine and they are only 1.5 hours away from me. The only thing they got wrong was that they did not drive the back 2 freeze plugs in far enough and they seeped coolant on start up. I drove them in a tad more and no more problems!
My engine will "safe rev" to 7,000 RPM's according to Mike.....and I proved it! While racing at Milan 2 summers ago, I accidently missed 3rd gear and hit neutral at full throttle! I hit 7,200 on the AutoMeter before the MSD started to pull it down. SCARY!
I have their "431" stroker kit. With the "turned down" crank counterweights, Eagle (lighter than stock) rods, and the Ross lightweight-full floating pistons......I can sing this puppy I a blink of dee eye! Oh, the roller rockers help too. The Comp cam range tops at 6,500 RPM's and that is the top for the Eddy RPM intake. The Comp lifters are probably my limiting point.
I tried to match components as best as I could for a Street/Strip car. Now if I was to do a strip only car, The intake goes for an M1, the compression gets bumped up to 12 to 1, the cam goes up a bit, and my 1 3/4 Hooker small tube headers get ditched for a min. of 1 7/8 tubes! Maybe some bowl and port work on the Eddy heads as well! Tony P.
