I have a 1966 Plymouth Fury III, 4 door sedan. Can someone please tell me what size gas tank I have?? Also, what kind of gas mileage might I expect from my 318 poly? I believe I have a 3.23 rear.

Your mileage may vary, literally. You could get anywhere from the low teens to 20+ mpg. I have no idea if the poly 318 is more or less fuel efficient than the LA.

ok, thanks for the replies. I didn't know the tank was that large, yikes! I recently got the car on the road and wasn't sure if I could trust my gas gauge. It has been hovering around a quarter of a tank for a couple days now which scares me. Most cars I've owned go empty very fast once they get around a quarter.
I'll be filling up soon so I'll let you know what kind of gas mileage I record. I don't think it's going to be pretty.

My experience in high school was that mopars would hang on when you were near E and needed a little more out of them
Polys by design have an efficient head on them, the LA was more influenced by the release of the sbc than any problem with the poly. The poly isn't completely different from the new hemis in fact.

OK, I finally got gas. My gauge eventually did drop below a quarter. I think it got hung up there a little bit? I was still showing about an 1/8th when I filled it up, and put 17.86 gallons in it. I only traveled 233.5 miles. 13 MPG, ouch!

So far with just neighborhood driving I am estimating about 13-15 for my 65 with the poly 318. I haven't had it on the highway or anything yet. Also counting the exact miles is tough as my odometer and speedometer are broken, so I am relying on phone GPS for both of those.
