Has anyone used Por-15 on their frame, brakes and/or suspension parts? i've check summit and a few other places that sell rust preventive paints & top coats and im leaning more towards this set from por-15. Im anxious to start painting!

hmmm i like the sound of paying $50 for a gallon of zero rust than $145 for por-15. i think im going to go ahead a get a quart of the zero rust paint and the bottle of prep step (they are out of the gallon).

We've only used it in small places like floorboards that had surface rust & yeah put it on at least 2 coats & gave it plenty of dry time.
The most extensive use of POR I did was on a Land Rover series II a friend has. Had to replace a front frame horn on that one & used it a lot ont he frame & inside floors. I haven't seen him in a few years so I need to check in with him & see how it held up.
The Zero Rust is just so much easier & still effectively does the same thing from what I can see.
For coating say the inside of a quarter panel down where you can't get to it Roofing Tar ( non Fibrous ) works good. You can use the cheap squeeze bottles like for ketchup & just run it in there. You tape up all the drains first & let it sit for a few days & then pull the tape & let the excess run out. Coats everything. I've even used it up in the rear quarter window area. Old trick a body man friend taught me.

I have also used Eastwood's Chassis Black on relatively clean metal and it has held up very well.
Number one best thing to do is get rid of the rust! Get the metal clean and good ole $20 a gallon Rustoleam is great.
FYI, brake fluid will eat straight through POR like any other paint.
I have had a similar experience with POR on the St. Regis. Worked great in some places, others quite badly. In the early 1990s I used something from Eastwood called Corroless that worked quite well.
