I need to rebuild the front end of the '68 300, including new control arms. I recall some people had issues with Kanter but forget what they were. Was it that the parts were cheap junk or the customer service was bad or both or...?
I would really like to buy one kit instead of piecing together stuff because I really don't have time for that. (you can tell by my frequency on this forum lately...)
I plan to get the control arms from... whatever company it was that rebuilt them and stiffened them up (was it Firm Feel?). Hoping to spend the entire first week in September working on the car, taking time off work but we'll see. May not have time to order the parts and get them in time since I'll be gone for 2.5 weeks of August.
Work schedule and life schedule sucks big time right now. Can't wait until October. Only one thing planned that month so far! !stars !stars !stars !stars !stars !stars !stars <span class='smallblacktext'>[ Edited ]</span>

Nice, thanks. I think I'll just go with all Firm Feel since they are cheaper for an equivalent kit (even with the $50 off for members at Just Suspension) and I need the control arms too. I'll be easy order it all at the same time.
If torsion bars are ever a necessity, they can be ordered later from JS. !thumb
Just Suspension should be able to provide you everything, they have a bunch more stuff than the website shows. They are also very helpful when selecting parts. But haven't heard any negative feedback on FirmFeel either.

I called both places today and I think I'll go with Firm Feel; mostly because they are cheaper and I don't need heavy duty tie rods like in the JS kit. Also, since the front end is coming apart and I want to run my car lower than stock (like it is now), I'll be getting the 1.25" "HD/Race" torsion bars. Dick at FF agreed with my pick and said that would be a great choice to not be cornering on the bump stops. They also advertise their "spring" rates where JS does not.
Believe me, if I had the extra $6K to spend on this, I'd max out the JS kit but my other cars serve as corner carvers. The 300 is a cruiser to enjoy daily if I want, and not blow wads of cash on indiscriminately.
So the first week of September, I will be taking the week off of work and removing the engine/trans and front end stuff. Engine bay will be painted (black of course like the whole car will be eventually), my "cursed 440" with 7K miles on it that's been in 3 other cars and totaled them all will be installed with HP exhaust and Edelbrock intake which I have lying around, and probably the stock Carter carb to top it off.

I made the call to Firm Feel yesterday and ordered up a bunch of stuff. They're going to wait to send it all until I ship them my control arm to have it cleaned and reinforced. So that means I should be taking the middle of next week to dismantle the car. The process will certainly take some time, hopefully not 8 months like the last time I rebuilt a front end. !tape
I'll have to start a new thread like Leaburn did for his BOAB. My 300 will be going through some changes FINALLY!!!!! !thumb !banana !drive
The first time I rebuilt my Fury's front end and swapped over to the disc brakes, it took 10 days. That was back when the old Western Auto still had all the parts we needed on the shelf!
