Just thought I would drop a line share some good news this weekend my brother and I got the VIP out of the barn it was stored in and got it running, sort of. Trailered it to his house with plans of making it road worthy!
Some of the fun we had was the fuel pump not working or the spare we brought. we mickey moused an electric one using a hose clamp to reduce the flow !clown then the starter started to fail
after we got it home we discovered the broken cap and rotor it runs pretty good for setting 5 years
the picture is of the new fuel system we installed to get it on the trailer

Proves "necessity is the mother of invention"
With three engines to pick from, Murphy's Law says, "no matter what criteria you use to make your selection, you will aways pick the one with the most hidden problems" !stars
Sometimes it better to have no choice, that way you can at least congratulate your self for picking the best one. !nana
BTW, that cap and rotor should really go on your trophy shelf!
The second one is a 360 One of the 440's has a cracked block That poly is the original motor with 99870 miles on it and i plan to put it back in, if it is worthy. upgraded of course!!!! At this pint the other 440 is for the challenger,
Can someone tell me what pressure the fuel pump should be making? we tried a pump that we know is working and it still the fuel pours out the vent and the bowls? For that matter the carb could have problem too ! !stars here is a shot of the car

Unless you are looking to keep the car more original, the long arm of the 360 would move that barge better than the 318. B&M off-balance flexplates are readily available so you can keep your stock converter. It would be pretty much a bolt-in affair. Travis..

From the looks of that rotor, I would check the distributor bushing on the top and bottom. Those old disty's needed to be oiled occasionally. The drive gear bushings in the block were prone ot wear also
