The 440 rebuild is going slow, but everything is going good. I got the block back last week, and Man! what a job the shop did. . Everything mic'ed out and the quality of workmanship is top shelf. I sent the rotating assembly to be balanced, now I need to get a converter so the shop can finish the job. The cam manufacturer recommends a 2800 rpm stall. The tec. I talked to said "with a big block in a big car, the converter will stall higher than advertised, and I will be alright with a 2500 rpm stall" What do you guys think? The next question is what brand to go with? I was leaning towards a Hughes 2500 stall, if it will work.
