Can anyone confirm definitively if a 1966 New Yorker was available with factory disc brakes or was this limited to the 300?
If they were available, would the wheels have been 14" or 15"? If 15", are the correct hubcaps the ones on ePay item # 150120558203?
I've done the upgrade on mine to disc brakes, I used a 1/8" wheel spacer to make the 14" wheel fit the calipers, but some day I'd consider moving to 15" if that would be correct (and affordable).
Thanks!
P.S. How do I post a link to an ePay item? [ Edited ]

Yes, I'm sure the disc brake option was available on all the 66 Chryslers. I have a 67 300 with the Budd front discs. It was an entire package and the differences from a drum brake car are quite extensive.
There is a different master cylinder, power booster, front and rear brake hoses, rear brake wheel cylinders, of course the rotors, pads and calipers. The disc brake cars also came with 15 x 6 inch wheels a different tire in a special size and unique wheel covers. The wheel covers say "disc brake" in black lettering around the circumference and the center "hub" is red. These wheel covers by the way are the same covers that were on Chrysler 300 letter cars with 15" wheels. Just instead of "300" in the middle, they are just painted red.
AND to make it just that much more frustrating and expensive, different lower ball joints which a VERY expensive.

Hi John, yes 66 NYer was available with front disc brakes. They included 15" rims. I have the correct hubcaps on my hardtop. The same hubcaps came on some disc brake equipped '67s. My dad had them on the 67 Plymouth Sport Fury vert he used to have.
I can't check your link right now because ebay URLs are blocked (I'm at work).
Here is a '66 NYer with Budd discs that I saw in BC a few years ago. Sorry it's such a large pic.
They look like the same hubcap to me, I contacted the eBay seller and all the parts are available but they want $800 for the set. Not sure I want to go there

Wow, they had better be MINT++ for that kind of price. OTOH, I bought almost every disc brake hubcap I could find for a year to put together a nice set, and I still had to repaint them, and the chrome on some of the center spinners has some pitting.
A few months ago I saw an ad on Craigslist that somebody in Buffalo was selling a real nice set for about $250 US (if my memory serves correct). They are out there, but not that common.
Hubcaps.com has them advertised as well, for $75 each. They're not shown under Chrysler on their website, look under Plymouth.
BTW, the 66 NYer 4dht in that pic is tied with yours for most highly-optioned 66 Chrysler I've ever seen personally. It had every available option except A/C and upgrade of the 440 to TNT, and HD suspension because it was mutually exclusive with disc brake option. Leather buckets with console, power drivers bucket, power windows including the vent windows, remote trunk release, headlight sentinel, AM/FM, etc etc.... It was all original steel with one repaint. No rust anywhere. drool, drool, drool.

I called them and they confirmed that they are correct for Chrysler too. I'm going to go that route and see what turns up. They have a 30-day return policy so.... whatever.

I have a Canadian brochure that doesn't show the TNT upgrade as an option for the New Yorker, only for the 300, IIRC. But I've heard that there were a lot of things you could just check off on the order sheet, might not be in the brochure. Anyone know for sure?

Upgrade to TNT engine was a $45 US option on the NYer. I don't see it on the CDN option list, but that one is harder to read because it's poorly formatted.
If anyone's interested, I got my 15" "Disc Brake" hubcaps from hubcaps.com today. Pretty good condition, some small defects in the centre hub red part but otherwise gorgeous. Now I just need to scrape together the cash for some 15" wheels and tires

I think so. My '73 Chrysler parts car had 15x6.5". The Cordoba and later cars through the 80s had 15x7".
I have two 15" rims that came from a Dodge pickup truck, and I think they're 15x6. I have no idea if the backspacing is the same, but I used them on the back of my hardtop for awhile.
