Sure thing guys. I didn't even do anything that radical. Take one 360 +.060" block add to this the new (affordable cast one) 4" mopar crank and blend them together with wiseco forged 10.15 slugs and eagle sir rods with floating pins. Whip two edelbrock aluminum heads with a mopar purple 292*/509" cam and add Indy Aluminum rockers to taste. Top off with an edy rpm airgap intake, a one inch SuperSucker plate and a generous dose of 850 Holley double pumper with all the trimmings (milled choke horn, radiused venturies, ported annular boosters, 4 corner idle). Put this on the stand untill core temp is 170 degrees and spin to 5800 rpm (peak), shift at 5900-6000. Spin once to 6600 just to say you did it, then drop in the car. More to follow.

69 FuryII two door formal sedan roofed rust bucket. Has the 2.76 open rear (gag). I want a 3.55 or even 3.91 gear but the well has run dry. Enter my 69 Fury III two door hard top roofed perfect bodied california donor. It has the 3.23 rear and since my 904 needed rebuilt, I spent the extra 75 bucks on a low gear planetary. This will give the 3.23 a launch like a 3.61. Downside is wider spread between 1rst and 2nd. I would care more if I didn't have 520lb/ft of torque. Build with what you have, they say. The stall is a 3grand unit from Hughes and its tight for a racer but its juuuuust right for a thumpy cruiser. I'm wanting some 275/60/15 M/T E/T Street Radials and am thinking about Caltracs. First predictions were 12.5 quarters but that was with a 3.55 and normal tranny gears. who knows now.

Interesting carb choice...alot of stroker sb guys over on Moparts, really seem to feel that those 4" motors can use alot of carb...most of em are running dominators on the wilder 10 sec combos...I'm not suprised from their postings that yours liked that 850
Have you narrowed down your tire choice and size yet?

Well we tried a 650 holley on it since we knew it wasn't eating 850 cfm on the dyno but power fell off everywhere, if we had a 750 we would have tried it but the motor was soooo happy with the 850 (fuel curves were awesome!) we just left it. Besides 300 buck for a buddies extra carb and his tuning to go with it is unbeatable. It was built by a AED Fuel Systems. As for tires, I was going along with 275/60/15 E/T Street Radials since I'll do hyway, but my buds are all on ET Streets (wrinkles) and they dont have any probs. And I've noticed that Wrinkle walls give you more tread per inch of sidewall width than the radials that are out. AAANNDD Hoosiers given more tread per sidewall than anyone else. So I am thinking of Hoosier Quick Time Pro Drag DOT's in 28x11.5-15. These go on an 8" rim (10" tread on 8" rim wonder how THAT will Look) and are 11.2" section for 10" tread versus the 275/60/15ETStreet Radials that are 11.1" section for only 8.9" tread. Also, Goodyear has their new DOT drag Radials that are supposed to take off Serious time from your 60' launch. Better than ET Street Radials by as Much as ET Street Radials were better that ETStreet Wrinkles. Couple TENTHS in 60'. decisions, decisions, money, money. KCSR.org (KC Street Racing scene) has rented KCIR the strip for the day on March, 11th. Don't think I can make tech by then. Still need to finish install then prep a rear with a locker that I don't have yet. Any one got a suregrip pig with a 3.55 or 3.91 I can borrow or lay-a-way? &|
