long story short i am removing the ac from my 67 vip and was wondering what i have to do to re-route the belt for the alternator to work correctly. does anyone have pics or a diagram on how to do this? once again thanks in advance for the info. The motor is ready to go in the car after i do this. BTW its a 67 440
My Fury was originally an A/C car and I plan on putting it back in at some point, but not right now. I tried to make it all work with the A/C stuff, hoping for an easy switch when I added the A/C back. No luck. I went through all kinds of pulleys in the process. Eventually, I wound up using a complete non-A/C pulley set. Everything is different and nothing was aligning. I had called Bourchilion and talked with them a couple times, they insisted I needed all the non-A/C stuff, but I was sure there was another way. As far as I was able to come up with, they are right. You will need a different water pump and crank pulley.
