After an interesting and educational year, I'm ready to start thrashing on my fleet of cars. I had a job that covered my expenses, and not much more, that started a domino effect for me. Not having adequate funds put a large dent in my enthusiasm and ability to fix up the current projects. After Carlisle last year, I just stopped doing anything to them. Sure I'd screw around a little, but mostly I'd have a few beers and look at them wondering what's next. Had a learning experience after the Cars at the Lake (CatL Drive I call it) that I pouted over for the next two months. I came out of that reflective period recharged, re-energized and ready to go! But the weather was still cold and the garage isn't insulated, so I was forced to wait.
This past week the temps got into the high 40's and low 50's, so I went out to the garage to get some further analysis on my '66 Monaco four speed, namely the brakes. That had to wait for me to clean up all the crap in my way, I had forgotten how much of a disaster I left my garage. I literally said "screw it", and walked away from the cars in late September. I still have to clean and organize the mess. That will happen over the next couple of months as the weather gets warmer, and my friend cleans out the 14' enclosed utility trailer I'm buying from him, it will help move and store parts while I rearrange everything.
I have a plan, I have three vehicles I want to get on the road this year, the Monaco, my Dart I've owned for way too long and driven very little, and my '72 W200 crew cab step side I've owned for way too long as well. Monaco, huge project. Dart, huge project. Truck, mainly brakes, so not too much work, I hope. I'm going to focus on the Monaco, as it's begging to be running, and I want to row through the gears. I have a ton of parts thanks to years of hoarding, and I have the funds needed if I need to buy anything I don't have. The car is slated to go to Carlisle, and I want it there. I'd like to get it out for the big show in Stillwater, but it isn't mandatory. It would be a sweet little victory if it does make it though.
I have a new job I've been at for three weeks, I like it, I like day shift better than I thought I would, I'm getting paid well for starting, and I have a super positive outlook on life. I'm in a very happy place, and the only one holding me back is me. I used to tear my car apart at the beginning of the cold weather, and put it back together when it got warm. Now I'm hoping I can do that year round, as I'll be insulating the garage this year, so I can rotate cars out and in from my storage units. I miss being productive with my cars, and I'm hoping I can surpass my goal of three cars back on the road.
So, life is good, and can only get better, the power of positivity! Sorry if I talked to much, Dave.

Nice, encouraging update. Each day is an opportunity to improve ourselves just a little bit more. Out here we have year round ambulatory conditions yet I see many folks sitting around and doing nothing, complaining, and when those types eventually lift a hand it's only to smoke weed. Seize the day!
