This 71 Monaco wagon came up for sale in Aubirn Washington last week.
It doesn't run, the interior is shot and the paint is cooked. I had to buy it regardless.
Many here know I've wanted a C body wagon for almost 40 years. I don't want a project but I couldn't help myself. I has a deal on this car 4 years ago when some unethical things happened to kill the deal. This was it then, in desert Oregon.
At more than double the 2017 price and in worse shape I didn't care. I have plans but I'm not sure if I'm willing to see them through.
Not really in a story telling mood but I wanted to give this board some life.

After sending the seller a few early messages he called me back. I wasn't gonna bargain, just wanted a few answers and agreed to buy. I left Friday evening at 7pm on a trip that should have been 25 hours and it took 34.
Snow on the Snoqualmie Pass going and the Lookout Pass on the return killed my time frame. Bad rain in Western Washington, high winds in the middle and two badly needed life saving naps extended my drive time.
After the Lookout Pass it was snow squalls the remaining 350 miles.
So the question is, Now what? Do it? Or release it? I will sleep on it over the winter. The whole car needs everything. A L code 383 between the rails, 100000 miles a toasted interior it's more than I wanted. Any advice? Parts? Ideas?
Congrats on getting DH46L1D242705 -- too bad the car is in worse shape than 4 years ago. Do you know what happened to her green sister wagon, which if memory serves was not for sale at the time?

Do it. Get it running. If the body is a as good as it looks, start hunting down an interior and do it the way you want it, don’t be tied to the fender tag. As long as you don’t fall into that rabbit hole of restoration, it should be fun seeing it come back to life. Wyatt is cleaning house he has to have some parts you’d need. What comes around goes a round.

M, no I don't. The seller of the estate insisted the green 71 was not for sale but why would she mention she had it then, not sure. My gut tells me Steve got it which is why he didn't keep this one.

James, are you reading my mind? Listening to conversations between myself and Wyatt? I do not have a garage aside from the attached garage that houses Missouri and our Challenger. I am looking to change that but, I don't know if it'll happen. I really want to do a car my way with no guidance by the tag. This is the perfect car for that. A deterrent is I have to get Missouri done first, engine rebuild and interior. I've been searching for a local engine builder I can depend on.
I have work to do on this house all next spring and summer. Without a winter roof, time is limited so I will start to collect parts, we will see.
Yeah, quit F-ing around and admit your gonna own her. Even if it takes a car cover to get by for a while, you can't tell me something better is around the corner... besides, perfect, numbers matching restorations are overrated. Make her what you've wanted.

Id leave the effin scat pack outside.
The wagon wot fit inside the attached garage. AND no I don't think you would. Put the 3000 dollar car inside and the 50000 car outside? That just isn't right.
