Did an oil change on the 66 300 and noticed coolant was dribblibg down the block behind the starter. Frost plug is rotten. Ok..removed the starter that has not been handled in over 40 years and snapped the wee stud off the starter. Battery wire is toast anyways. I went ahead and replaced the rusted out frost plug. Sitting duck till I get more parts...lol.

I got the Wilson remanufactured starter locally for just over a hundred bux. Ordered it for a 1993 Dakota with a 5.2L V8. Smaller and lighter than the ole gear reduction starter..
I am lucky to have access to a shop with a hoist..
