Always liked the '65s big cars. Was looking for a Fury or Monaco for years. Long after Dad retired I found out he was Head of Front End Sheet Metal and Grilles on these cars. He worked a lot of overtime through the summer of '63 to push the new big cars out. Looking back that explains why he had a Custom 880 sedan and a Sport Fury convertible for company cars in '65. I will post pics of those later if interested.
Had new upholstery done last year. All custom made from the original seat patterns. The full length console makes these unique. Thought this was so cool as a kid. I added the dual snorkel lid just because they look cool! Just a teaser pic for the purists.
I cobbled this together from the build sheet and prices are swags from labels found online.

Thanks Dave. It’s a great 20 footer as they say. The key things I wanted was a southern car, complete with all trim and a knowledgeable previous owner. Jon was serious about keeping car original and garaged. Since I purchased I have carefully cut-and-buffed the 30 year old Macco type paint job to get it to shine a bit better. At least it is glass smooth. I don’t plan a full restoration cause I want to drive it. I’m happy with it as is now with the new interior. I’ve got a new exhaust system and nos brake pads and shocks on the shelf when I really feel energetic. OH, And the Gary Tayman radio conversion really makes it more enjoyable to cruise in now.

That's an awesome car, I hope to have one in that condition sooner than later.
I’m perfectly fine with it as a “Twenty Footer” and just keeping the mechanicals in good running order. The old repaint looks fine from twenty feet and I don’t really worry where I park it or folks touching it at shows. Cause you know how it goes. New paint, then a gotta rechrome the bumpers and of course the vinyl top would then need to be replaced and on and on. The vinyl pattern for this car is one year only and nobody makes the material. So it’s not gonna be correct anyway. FWIW The guy parked next to me at Tuesday’s cruise night spent an hour detailing his already perfect 71 340 4spd shaker cuda as I just leaned against the Monaco with a cold one watching him. He didn’t get it!
