My turn signals work, but the lever doesn't stay engaged when you pull it on in either direction. I have seen some of the switch assemblies for sale on ebay and have read some forum threads about replacing the switch, but my question is, is there a simpler option to only fix the problem I have with the lever not staying engaged rather than replacing the entire switch? Thanks.

Nope. The Tilt/tele column is based on a GM unit which the turn signal switch is different compared to non tilt columns. Howevwer,Imperail useda similar column and check out the Imperial web forum for repairing the TS switch..
They are NOT the same - your column, as indicated above, was made by Delco for Chrysler. If anything, look in the GM camps - Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile mid sixties tilt tele colums likely used a very similar switch.
The Mopar regular column parts DO NOT interchange with a Tile Tele column.
Well this did not go well. The cam I got looked almost exactly like the original cam, but the original cam is riveted to the main part of the switch, so I tried to remove the entire switch and retrofit the new cam with the part out of the car, but I could not fit the old switch through the opening in the steering column cover. I tried to remove the cover the way it said in the service manual, but with an improvised special tool. The cover wouldn't budge. It's like it's welded on there. So, I'm stuck right there.
Well I bought the special tool for removing the cover and that did pop it right off, but after getting a good look at the switch I decided to just give up trying to retrofit the replacement part I bought. It would have required tearing apart the original switch and if I wasn't able to make it work I'd be in a really bad mess. If only I had a new switch, it would have been a piece of cake.
