That is cool, I had read that before, but didn't have a good understanding of the numbers and how they compared in a street application. Also they have a cam installed, and I didn't mention but my engine is stock. The Edelbrock DP4b Intake performed better than either of the other 2, and I have seen them for about 1/2 the price of a new Performer!

After reading Part 2 of the article, it mentions the Edelbrock Performer RPM betting the highest marks. I thought at first it was the same Performer as in the Part 1, but that was the 2186 spreadbore. The RPM is a squarebore. If I use those square bore carbs you saw In my other post, wont I have to have the square-bore intake? I see its a high rise, and wonder if it will fit under my hood? Seems like im getting narrowed down on what I can use.

Performer RPM just barely fits with a low profile air cleaner. I use one of the Edelbrock triangular air cleaners with the cast aluminum top. I would've used a drop-base air cleaner, but it would have hit the electric choke module on my carb. If I had a 440, this setup probably would not fit since the RB blocks are a bit taller than the B blocks. I once broke an engine mount and the air cleaner hit the hood when the engine torqued.
FYI, I have an Edelbrock AVS 650 on a Performer RPM 383 in my hardtop, and an Edelbrock AFB 600 on a DP4B in my convertible.
The Performer 383 (#2186) can be used with square bore carbs.

Another possibility is the Mopar M1 Dual Plane. I was lucky enough to find one for a decent price. It's a nice little aluminum intake similar to the OEM cast iron piece.
