It's time to sell my '65 Newport Town Sedan. I've owned the car since October of 2002. and my nearly 3 and nearly 6 year old boys occupy most of my time these days.
The car is originally from Nebraska and came to Illinois when the owner passed away and her daughter inherited it. I purchased the car with 51,000 miles on it. I've driven it to Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin with no problems. The car has 69,XXX original miles and runs quite well. I have not seen any rust on the body. The car has been garage kept most of its life.
Interior is completely original aside from CD player and replacement windlacing around driver's side door. Windlacing around passenger side is dry-rotted and in need of replacement. Dash is complete - no cracks or warping. Steering wheel has no cracks - rare for this model. No tears in upholstery or carpeting. Two rear seatbelts added in 2015 so that I could take my kids along to shows and cruise nights.
French Ivory paint is mostly original. The only paint work that has been done on the car since I have owned it is the driver's side front quarter as well as the underside of the hood. Underside of the hood also has new repro pad. Modifications to car include dual master cylinder, dual exhaust, and CD player. I have all paperwork documenting maintenance that has been done on this car since I have owned it.
Needs: AC recharge as well as one of rear windows is seized - both easy projects.
Car has won awards at local shows, but I never had a chance to take it to Carlisle, or Moparfest.
Asking $6,200
Car is located in Morton Grove, Illinois - a suburb of Chicago. Sale will include old brochures and a rare dealership poster for the standard 4-door Newport.
