I have four old Mopars now (just bought a 1968 LeBaron super loaded) and am looking at doing some tire juggling so to speak.
This has lead me to the point where I think that I want to put 16" wheels on my 1967 Polara 500 convertible.
Right now the car has factory (late 80s) 15" x 7" steel wheels with 255/60/15 BFG Radial TA tires. I am going to try those tires (not wheels since the bolt pattern is different) on my 69 LeBaron Coupe.
I want to use the tires that are currently on my 2006 Honda minivan on the Polara. These are Michelin Defender 235/65/16 tires.
I absolutely love the drive and handling of theses tires and think that they would work perfectly on the Polara. The car has a really stiff modified aftermarket suspension and I think that these tires would make the car drive much "nicer" than the 60 series Radial TAs. As a bonus I can take the tires off the van (two years old now) and put new tires on the van so the old tires are almost free. Not really but I can pretend.
So the question is what would be some good wheels to install 235/65/16 tires on a 1967 Polara?

Watch out for the center hole register size on the Ford wheels. I have a set of 16" aluminum turbine wheels from a 1988-89 Lincoln LSC that I plan to use on one of my Chryslers eventually, but I will need to enlarge the center register.
