Im getting my Furys leaf springs rebuilt. Ive had to cut most of the shackle bolts off. Can anyone suggest some places to get new bolts and bushes? There are quite a few places selling poly bush kits but not many places selling bolts that I can see. JC Whitney do the centre bolt that goes through the leaves. Any suggestions?

Most of the stuff I'm looking at doesn't specify C body. Ive started stripping them down and the shackles are shot. All the shackles Ive seen have straight sides whereas on mine one of the sides is offset.
Also has anyone on here thats done a leaf spring overhaul got any advice? Ive heard of people putting an extra leaf in. Does this make the suspension stiffer or raise the ride height? Is it a good idea or should I stick with getting them retempered as stock. Ive found a local spring shop that knows what they are doing but any advice would be helpful.

This is what I mean about my shackle. The pin that goes through the leaf spring is 2 1/2" long. but the pin that goes through the shackle mounting plate is 3 1/2' long, hence the reason one of the shackle straps is offset. All the shackles Ive seen have straight sides, including firm feels heavy duty ones that state they are for C bodies. Rock Auto also do a C shackle that has straight sides.
Can anyone shed some light on this.
I had a word with firm feel guys and they say they know about it and are working on something now.
Ahhh.... I thought you were talking about the Fury in your profile pic. Sorry if I added to any confusion.
Those look like B Body offset shackles.
Shackles are pretty basic parts. Take measurements of the bolt holes centre to centre, and the pin lengths (long and short), and you should be able to match them up.

Yeah thats my '71 in the profile pick, but sorry I should have specified the year. I keep forgetting the difference to the '60s Furys.
Well after some more looking I can't find anyone selling shackles the same as mine. They do look like the b body offset ones except for the pin length difference. the actual shackle is quite corroded so its not even worth replacing the pins. I think I am going to repair the broken pin and wait for Firm feel to start making them. Unfortunately I don't have access to a machine shop anymore, otherwise I would probably have a go at making some myself.
