Finally bit the bullet after, what, 3 years? Yanked the busted ass 318/904 outta the 71 Fury. My 383 4 barrel got a new oil pan and pick up, the truck setup on it looked nice, rear sump, very clean. But that lead me to the issue - we spent hours screwing with about 2" worth of ugly getting it slipped into the Fury. Finally did, and it is resting on the motor mount brackets (like the mount brackets are HUGE) - finally looked them up - http://www.bpeusa.com/BPEtruckKit.asp - this is EXACTLY what I got, the pan/pickup, and those brackets with BPE engraved in them. So clearly in a couple weeks when I get back out there, those gotta come off... but... do the NAPA - http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx/Motor-Mount-Front/_/R-DTT6421118_0488308554 - mounts require a specific bracket (assuming so) - does anyone have a hook up or at the very least an image of what I'm needing? Tranny mount appears to be flawlessly perfect. 2nd question if you're reading - put in an orange box electronic ignition on the 318 - I am 99% sure I can't use the distributor, but what about the brainbox? I haven't looked at the 383's dist to see if it is E or points...
Pics pics, yes eventually - my phone's camera is busted out, and I refuse to use the selfie side camera.
The ECU,ballast resistor, and even the wiring will be the same. 383(low deck) and 440 RB will be of different heights so make sure you get the one for the 383. I would spring for a new MP dist. and then sell your 318 one to recoup most of the cost.

the dist that is on it is quite nice, didn't check make, I will. it was pulled from a trailduster (though it is a 67 block if I recall right) so they had rebuilt it, trucked it up for a bit, and I picked it up for a decent price. It is complete, I just didn't think thru the engine mounts. if it moved a rig well, it shouldn't have an issue with the C body

Go to this page and what you want is about seven frames down. When I went to a big block on mine, I welded the new mount stand-offs to the K-member after removing the old ones but now it's as simple as a conversion kit. You don't want to mess around with mounting a 383/400 in a 318 car because they have a good deal of torque and are noted for ripping the driver's side biscuit apart. Go to this sight:

we don't have different crossmembers right? I've used the Schumacher mounts before on a B-body, but that seems excessive if I'm not dealing with a different x-member. I can fab if I need to, but I'd need a pic, and so far I've not had luck finding a pic even

You just need the factory big block engine mounts, only have to mess the K member or the schumacher mounts if its a /6 car. Schmaucher does sell the mounts, but almost $150 for the stock look alikes and almost $300 for the poly-locs...

I found a set locally this AM. Thanks for the info. I haven't looked at it yet, but anyone know off the top of their head if a BB driveshaft from a 67 should fit the 71? Does it matter 2dr vs 4?
