Bought basket case 300 Hurst on Ebay in 2004 for $1500. Seller said it was real but 1) no A12 on the tag 2) seats are not all leather 3) engine was replaced with a 69 440 4) rims weren't painted gold.
So I started restoring it thinking it wasn't real and took some artistic license changing some things mostly due to expense. Almost done, I like it better than the way Hurst did it.
Then in 2010, I found the build sheet under the carpeting! Someone taped it all up and put it there. I filed it still thinking it was a normal 300 and forgot about it until last week, when I started doing research:
1) "38 special order" on build sheet is for Hursts, correct? 2) Vehicle order # is below 20000, so no A12 would be on the tag, correct? 3) I think all Hursts have date code 125, correct? (just like mine does) 4) "Imp Set up" is written on sheet. Does this mean special Imperial interior? 5) Mine has the cable AND vacuum switch to open the trunk. I think only both came on the Hursts, correct?.
Seats list "5" on build sheet What does that mean? The current cloth and leather 6 way power seats are worn and look original. When I got it, the cloth door skins were toast, so I changed those out for the common door skins. DO you think its a real 300 Hurst? If so, Do you think I have the only 300 Hurst with that special interior? Thanks for the help!

Hi,
yes in fact you may have all the required numbers and codes on the build sheet, not on the plate. Mine is a real hurst too but I do not have all codes on the data plate but on the build sheet. All the hurst had imperial 1970 tan interiors but some people changed it in time... interior do not appear to be all original on your. A lot of Hurst have diffrent equipments like console ( 10% i think ), cruise...
below 200000 : nor A12 on the plate. you have it on the build sheet. ( combinaison group A12) All hurst have code 125. I do not know for the trunk. I think I only have cable.
can you give me the VIN of your car ? do you still have the fiber trunk lid and hood ?

Hi, My Hurst has been verified as real by the Chrysler International club. It is an early car, v.i.n. under 200 000 and only has the A12 code on the broadcast sheet. Fender tag ofcourse has buildt date 125. Car also had a broadcast sheet for a later Hurst inside.
