72 Polara, Sedan, custom interior, fuel injected custom 5.9 Magnum, 518 trans. Needs some work, mostly cosmetic and some trim. Fuel and temp gauge not working. 78 formal dash. minor rust. Floors and 1/4's solid. I drove this as a daily driver until 3 years ago. Get's 19 MPG around town. Was supposed to be featured in Mopar Action a long time ago. Every time we went to do a photo shoot, it rained. . . .
In it's day it was the only one like it. May still be. Many innovations like delay wipers. I suggest you email me for pics. Drivable. Needs new Batt.
I'm too sick to work on it and can't even afford a battery for it.

I'm sorry to hear things aren't going so well.
If anything changes on my end and a $3000 car becomes part of my plans, I will keep that Polaraco going for a few more decades. It's just like I'd want to build one. EFI 318/360 with an A518 transmission. Gear it right and it'll give decent mileage year round. At 19mpg city/mixed sounds like you're there because the 2WD '00 Durango with a 318/44RE my wife had (on 235/75R15 tires with 3.55 gears) got 17 mixed and 19 highway and it moved a lot more air being up high than a fuselage/cokebottle c-body ever would.

Where else can you get a true internet star car for 3G's?
I am carsitting Polaraco until someone steps up and rescues it - one of the early Magnum/a518 swap projects.....Mopar Action did one on an earlier car, but Steve started his first. One thing he didn't say was he swapped the beer barrel intake for a high performance MPFI intake (Hughes I think) and had custom headers made / modified. This thing really goes (I drove it on RT 80 a while back and there's nothing like a 70's C body when it shifts into 4th auto! (PS- it has 3:23 sure grip rear as well)

Yes, so sorry to hear about your situation, Steve. We all need to be thankful for each day we have, esp if they are quality days where we can still chase our dreams.
And as said, that car is an internet star. I've seen it on ebay a few times and liked everything about it, except that I wish it still had it's original dash. Too bad it isn't closer, that would make a cool DD baby-hauler for me. I'd drive it like crazy and protect the heck out of it.
Stitcherbob - If you have any resources to get it out to IN at minimal cost, I might be able to consider saving it?

You can drive it home. The gauges need work, but the rest is worthy of the trip. There is no such thing as cheap transportation any more.

I figured it would make the trip, but me coming out east to get it isn't doable. But if somebody was coming this way to pick something up and had an empty trailer heading west, I'd consider that as destiny calling.
