I do understand that, however by making it richer than it is will not make more power. I intend to dial it in but a bit lean does not explain the apparent lack of power.

IMO the chassis dyno is one of the worst thing to ever happen to the auto.
I'd be a lot more keen on things like quarter mile times if you're looking to track performance.
But in any case, I'm having a hard time seeing the problem. You spend the first half of your post saying how happy you are with the engine, then get unhappy because the dyno numbers aren't what you want. Which is more important?

Until you richen it up to where it should be you will never now know will you? What do you think makes hp?If the motor wants more fuel you bet your rear end it will make more hp when you feed it correctly.

So i got an actual printout from the second dyno run for the fuel air ratio. During the run. It never goes leaner than 14:1. I can post the graph later. The search continues.
When you have a bunch of components and everything seems like it should run the magic numbers ,most do not. Sometimes you have to backtrack and most power losses actually start WAY before the carbs, timing, etc. It has to do with your math and some important tools and one of the best is your dial indicator. Is your valves opening when they should and are they reaching maximum lift. Is the TDC,really TDC etc. Are the pushrods the right length, etc. I always double check all of this within certain levels and when i'm done,i never have to go back there and second guess myself. Was all of this checked?
