[quote] There are a few new choices in BB cylinder heads now, and TrickFlow is coming out with 3 versions this year also.
Where did you hear Trick Flow was coming out with 3 versions? As far as I have seen there is one version with 4 spring packages. It would be great if they had something that flowed better for strokers.

Read about it on Moparts, but it was all prelim discussion based on info seen at SEMA-type shows, IIRC. I didn't pay much attention to the specifics of the versions as all 3 were a bit above my needs.

[/quote1429220900] Years ago when i was doing some racing....we had ONE choice....factory iron heads that we spent nights and nights hogging them out and to spec. Now look at the choices....spring variables,3 different port profiles....C'mon...this is getting TOO easy,to make power!!!! The good part is,it puts the owner of the car more in touch with Forums like this,to get the engine setup right without a taking the word of the engine shop telling you how THEY want it done!
Hoping to drop the 440 back in today. Got most everything ready just need an extra set of hands to make the install a little easier. Here are some pics of the motor in all its glory.
Looks great... I would get rid of that flex fan: they rob a ton of power and have been known to fly apart, taking out your radiator too. Any Mopar 6 or 7 blade fan from the 80's will work way better and won't come apart. You can get a good set up here:
I would also recommend a 2 row aluminum radiator to keep things cool...I don't know why I put up with all those years of cooling problems with old school copper/brass radiators.
If you have problems keeping the engine cool in traffic, the first thing I'd suggest is swapping out that water pump. It's the same design as CAT Performance and Edelbrock. Flow rate of that pump is OK on the highway but lousy at low RPM.
