Hi everyone. I just picked up, what looks to be, a never used Holley 1850-2. I'm looking to put it on my mainly stock 383 with a 727. Is this a good carb? Is there anything I should be on the lookout for? I'm upgrading from a 2bbl, so I'm expecting a significant difference. Does anyone know what the cfm was on a stock 2bbl stromberg on a 66? Any thoughts?

If I remember correctly, the 1850 is a basic model 4160 600 CFM vacuum secondary square bore. I would think it will work nicely with a stock 383 2 bbl motor. The stock AFB on my '66 Monaco 383 4bbl motor was 610 CFM, so this should work fine on the lower compression 383. Use a basic manifold like a stock iron or Performer, don't use a Performer RPM or Torker, it will not work well with the stock cam. My $.02 I hope this helps...
