This question is for those who have some experience deciphering the bewildering array of Mopar A/C-heater pushbutton switch part numbers on eBay and elsewhere out there.
I have just purchased an NOS Mopar #3502126 A/C-heater pushbutton control switch for my 1970 Chrysler 300 without AutoTemp; the seller claims that it fits "1968 - 1974 Mopar" and that it replaces switch numbers 3431020, 2820487, 3895033 and 3895790. As I have not yet removed the old switch from the dash, I do not know its number.
Is the 3502126 indeed a direct replacement for the original? If not, is there a simple way to make it work such as switching vacuum hose or wiring positions?
You can get a parts book for your car at www.mymopar.com under Tools / Resources. I'm not an expert on your year, but generally speaking the switch assemblies were improved and superceded over the years but my understanding is that they are pretty much interchangeable (without Auto Temp, as you say). I believe your original is 2820487, so that the later one should work, but those with more experience may correct me.
