It looks like a replacement for an 1156 bulb. It was in the tail light panel I removed from a 68 Polara. There was just the one. The oposite socket had a regular 1156 in it Looks like it says 12 volt 20 watt.

Be careful with these "unknown" bulbs. I had collection of "unknown's" in the dash of my old IHC Scout, they worked well, nice and bright, but generated enough heat that all my bulb holders melted. Heck of a mess.

Thanks for the warning. I have no intention of using it. just thought it looked odd. Never seen one before. The adapter the bulb is in is odd looking too.
Never thought of Halogen it must have been in there for well over ten years 'cause Iv'e had the car at least that long. I'm parting the car now, and it was in one of the tail light bulb sockets. Not even sure witch one.
