Anyone know which air cleaner base I can use with a holley sized carb which will allow me to use the stock single snorkel air cleaner? I was surprised to find the stock 4bbl air cleaner base will not fit over holley style carbs.

Whatever you do, just make sure the air filter still seals correctly between the top and bottom halves of the air cleaner if you mix and match tops and bases.
I know there are bases with different sizes holes, but I'm not sure which year they switched from the 4 5/8" to the 5 1/4" which will fit Edelbrock/Holley carbs. Why do you want to use a single snorkel cleaner? They are pretty restrictive and really only meant to be used with 2bbl carbs.

In '66 the 350 horsepower 440's and 383 4bbls had a single snorkel air cleaner with the small diameter AFB. My Monaco has a 365 horsepower 440 and it has a dual snorkel and also the small diameter AFB. I put a '69 375 horsepower intake and AVS on it and the '68 base works perfectly (with a Fram CA127 filter)

The single snorkel is stock on my 350 horse 66 440 motor. I am trying to hide the performer RPM and quickfuel carb under the stock air cleaner. I think i have a solution figured out.

Another option would to find a 13" un-silenced air cleaner base and use the stock air cleaner above the open type base, that gives you the flow of an open element air cleaner but the looks of the stock system...

That is exactly what I do with my dual snorkel air cleaner, and I use a 2 3/4" tall filter for hood clearance with the Performer RPM manifold

I believe that the switch was in the 1968 model year. 69s definitely have the larger diameter hole and 67s definitely have the smaller diameter hole.
