Ok, I'm a newbie to this post, I've seen plenty of discussions for disc brake conversions for 65 and up c-bodies, and some for 62 and below. But I'm having a hard time locating info for a 63 New Yorker town and country conversion. Has anyone converted a 63 or 64 to discs ? I'm aware of scarebird and some other adapter kits but I cant seem to find anything for 63-64.
Some background. I'm planning to use my 63 Town and Country as a tow vehicle and want as much braking as I can get. I currently have a 383 and 8 3/4 taper shaft rear. I plan on building the 383 for low to mid range power, swap in a A518 and a 3.73:1 later model 9.25" rear because they bolt right in from a later model c-body and there's tons of differentials afford-ably priced compared to the 8.75" Any info would be helpful

BTW, when looking for a rearend, don't get tempted by the plentiful 90s-up Ram trucks in the junkyard, those 9 1/4" rearends are known to have lots of bearing problems. The older ones would be the ones to look for. I'd be surprised to find any good OD-compatible gear ratios for one of them, though??? Or do they interchange with the truck rearends?

You'll want 11.75" rotors on a wagon, especially a towing wagon. But you need to upgrade to 15" wheels as well.
Forget the AAJ-stuff as their stuff only uses the small discs around 10" orso I recall.
I've been working on a discbrake setup on my '64 Chrysler in the past. I made adapter plates and spaces but never really finished it on the car. I made new adapterplates and finished the work on my '62 NY-wagon instead.
If you're willing and able to do some fabwork on your own I could help you get started if you like. The setup uses the big & beafy '73 Chrysler rotors and calipers. I think you will also have the least amount of money involved after all is set and done.
