Just do it!I'm onto my 3rd six pack in my car, 1st was stock kit from Herbs, then a Promax set on a mild engine now a custom "triple pumper 3 x 500cfm" set with Ford mechanical linkages on a 500 stroker. Buy it, set it up and learn to tune it yourself with a vacuum gauge. I can recommend the Promax 2ndry metering plates and their rear carb billet base plate (if you're not anal about originality), and fit an A/F gauge with the sender in the exhaust, well worth the effort for fine tuning.

took it down to transporter next day and sent it...trying to keep car as original as l can and in doing this run into the oem A/C and breather base clearance issues and not shure what lve got to work with there learning to tune..would sink my teeth into it big time and have it to a fine science given time.. metering plates...belive ive seen these or something similar...basicly makes swaping jets easyer without removeing carbs right?..think this is a good idea and would look into it if l go that route...best to do now while build is in progress...guessin l'll have to see what restorer thinks and he cant do nada till he has a base plate to check things out...looks like lm in the market for a baseplate now

All of that I would agree with, but possibly add the use of an accurate digital tacho when setting them up.
The Promax metering plates save changing the whole part because they are modified to take standard Holley main jets. Holley do a kit of jets with 2 of each size. Therefore two kits are required, as each secondary needs two jets. Depending on how accurately someone wants to set the six pack, other parts could be needed as well.
