I guess I was thinking you were asking why rather than how. I know the seller didnt do it because I asked him when I saw the car at Mopars in the Park back in June. I guess in any event someone did it. I note the auction is done and no re list so maybe seller has a real deal. Congrats to him!

I am confused. 383 to 318 is a big block to small block swap, more than just pull and replace. Confess I have never, ever, ever seen anybody do that to a C body.
A 66 New Yorker was listed for sale in Montana recently with a 318. I did not follow up on the car because it was a little too far away and not really something that interested me. However I would not be surprised if someone pulled the 440 engine/trans from the new Yorker and swapped it with the 318 engine/trans from an A/B/E body.

The only Fury models with the narrow tail lights were Fury I and Fury II, all the rest had the wide ones. BTW that convertible is not correct, all 70 Fury convertibles were Fury III. That car was restored back around 2007 by a company called Crossram and then it was sold through a company in Florida. I knew the fellow that owned it before Crossram. Crossram took a few shortcuts and the Fury II bumper was one of them.

I don't think this car ever was, or is a police car....... It was a factory 383 car. Didn't have the Pk vin ect...... All the heavy-duty equipment is gone........ its just a plain jane fury without it's orig big block......

Thanks for the info, Bill! Must say, the Fury II bumper looks refreshing on the vert though... Incorrect, yes, but still refreshing somehow.

I'm on the other side of this question as I am completely convinced the car is a factory pursuit car. With a selling price of almost $5000 I would think the buyer feels the same way. Not all pursuit cars are PK cars. The Washing state partrol cars in 1970 were not PK cars, they did not even have an A38 code! This car has the following items that would be extremely unusual on a plain jane fury. The dome "ticket light", roof reinforcement, the high idle control, the black full ring steering wheel which the seller indicates he removed before listing, the certified speedo, the hand painted unit control number in the drivers door jamb, body color H rims (3 of them), and single key trunk/ignition locks. I think it even had the battery heat shield when I saw it at Mopars in the Park back in June
