I'm going to be a little critical of cam companies. If Comp had ground the 268 with a profile from this century, rather than the last, it could have been a good cam for a 440 engined C-body. If a more modern profile was ground on their 274 cam, that would be a great cam for us.
A bit of the same thing occurs with Lunati. The -302 that Kraut mentioned could be a lot better also. Personally, from the Lunati range I would go one or two steps down, to the -301 or -300. But even those could be improved a lot.

I've used both the #sum 6400 and #sum 6401 as well as the Mopar "road runner" profile, the Summit combos offer good value, I'd recommend the 6400 in a c-body, it would give good low end torque which is what you want to get these big boats moving, you might give up a tiny bit of performance compared with the Mopar or Comp or brand name grinds but you'd save a hundred bucks, my $0.02
Would I have to worry about vacuum issues with the 6400? Summit quotes the specs as:
Cam and Lifters, Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 288/298, Lift .444/.466, Chrysler, Big Block, Kit

FWIW When I switched to the summit cam I was able to get rid of my Rhodes Lifters without any problem, I needed them for the previous cam which was a Crane Fireball grind which was okay when I had the motor in a 4 speed car. No vacuum issues now, great throttle response.
After talking to a previous owner of my car, I found out the Lunati Voodoo 262 is whats in my 440. I've found it to be a very good mid level cam for a mostly stock 66 motor. Not to crazy, but a lot better than stock. Might be worth looking into.
