So I just found this site a few weeks ago, wish I had found it sooner, but it is what it is! I bought a clapped out 65 Polara back in early august and over the past 6 months tore it down and put it back together. Rebuilt mild engine, new interior, some homegrown body work and primer and paint, simple wheels, front disc brake conversion with a dual master, aluminum radiator, twice pipes, going to get an 8 point cage, subframe connectors, and I would like to update the front suspension but I have not dug into that just yet. I'm a bit of a nascar fan, mostly of the 60s, and being that I did not have the cash to get a satellite or a galaxie or a charger etc, and this is built to be a fun cruiser for tailgating and terrorizing the town, I opted for the 1300 dollar 4000 pound Polara. Id be happy to go into further detail on each aspect, but mostly Im posting to hear what people have to say, every time someone says something to me I usually get a new perspective or idea, and I have found that helpful as I've gone along with this build. Below are Day 1, motor work, primer, and as it sits today.

Sweet! I'm a big fan of the '65 C-body NASCAR rides. Yes, they (privateers) actually raced C-bodies in '65! I haven't ever found any info of a Polara being raced but it is very possible! If it helps with your styling of the car, here are few pics of the Plymouth Furys I have found that raced that year. One day I hope to build a replica true to these rare C-body cars.
awesome! never thought to even look for a C body, just shrugged it off as ''no way'' although I know dozens of private teams raced whatever they could get their hands on. I'd kill to see what kind of suspension and body mods they did to them....

Good find! Thanks! Yeah, I would love to know what they did with the suspension as well. Unfortunately, finding info on them has proved rather difficult. Maybe I could contact King Richard and see if he would respond. I know his guys built cars for either Baker or Turner. Anyways, good luck with your ride and post up your progress.

I dig it. It definitely needs more than what's just on the front fender. The number on the door will help but I think having something on the rear 1/4 panel would finish it off. My $0.02, FWIW.

no doubt, itll either get the K&K logo on it or some old school logo idea. maybe va dodge dealers on one side and my uncles machine shop that did the motor on the other side.
