Hi, Finally got the 67 Sport Fury (the one posted earlier with the EFI Hilborn and Ramtubes) running and drove it over to ST. Pete from Tampa a couple weeks ago for a cruise-in show. There's a local mouthy guy there with an S-10 with a "built" stroker small block and wheelie bars that supposedly makes 700 hp..... hmmm, ok. Anyway, he calls me out.
So, first time at the track with my new setup at 4200 lbs, all motor.
60' 1.609 330 4.494 1/8 6.936 mph 100.60
Yes, the Fury put it on him!!! It pulled the front wheels slightly, but my sixty foots are down as the 9.5 inch Dynamic is stalling to 5600 rpm, which is well past motor's torque peak. Will send it back for a different stator after Garlits show and get it around 4000 - 4200.
Also- No trailer queen here baby! I drove the car from Tampa to Largo (approx 25 miles one way) in 6:00 traffic to track, raced, and drove home with Social Distortion thumping on the hidden stereo system.
Hi Tony, Calculates to 10.80, but I really hate to speculate and sound like a Burger King drag racer.
I will get the converter and supension dialed in on the 1/8. The car has run better 60' times with a weaker combo, so I know there is more in it now. Just have to put it to the ground. Then I'll go run some 1/4 times and be able to speak for sure.
Hi Dana, Thank you for the enthusiasm and encouragement.
Just got off the phone with Monte Smith who has offered to hand carry converter to PTC for me for mods. Looks like we are going to shoot for around 4500 rpm while on motor only, as really this is most important to me. NOS should push the converter another 500 rpm. I'll do this after Garlits show, then get it back out, tweak the suspension some, and get the 60' back down.... hopefully.
Unfortunately, we didn't plan on the converter being so loose, so on the chassis dyno power didn't hook until after torque peak as the graph was already on downward slope. Therefore, I really do not know exactly where torque peak is. However, 4500 rpm is an educated guess.
Funny, this 9.5" Dynamic works so well on the street, you would never guess it stalls so high.

Nelson, curious as to why you did not choose TURBO ACTION for your trans needs being they are in Jacksonville, FLA. In my world, they have always been one of the "TOPS" for Mopar trans needs. Great valve bodies and converters! Right in your back yard......so to speak! I had them air ship my converter/trans to Detroit Metro airport from sunny FLA. and I picked it up! 3 years of hard use.....no problems yet! Bad dealings with them over Dynamic? Tony P./TONYPRO

Thats about where I'm shooting to have my PTC set up for aswell 4200ish and if its a little looser I'll live with it, although I don't have the cubes feeding mine that you do. More concerned about the efficiency on the big end...current one is slipping 14+ % and thats just not gonna cut it

Hi Tony, Quite the contrary actually...
Turbo Action built the transmission and I'm running one of their valve bodies. So far, so good! Nothing but compliments!
Dynamic converter was given to me used and to be honest... is an awesome converter. Amazing street characteristics and runs cool as a cucumber. Just too much stall.
I'm going with PTC mods because my good friend Monte Smith is a wholesaler for PTC, he'll watch over and consult as he is very familiar with the Fury and lives down the road from them.

Hi Dana, What converter are you running now? Just curious.
