It's like this. You state BHP, but what about CUBES? It really depends on what size BB you are running and what your intentions are. For a STREET car, 451 cubes would be BORDERLINE for 1 3/4" headers. The 1 3/4" are ideal for low end torque that a BB has and a heavy car. Head to the strip with a C body and a 451..I'd want the 1 7/8" for sure. A 496 stroker and up? 1 7/8" MIN for STREET ONLY. Strip use would be ideal with 2" tubes. As with any good build, component matching is A MUST! Everything works together or you have issues. A smart builder will plan out the parts knowing the use intended BEFORE they go together. Tony P.

cubes will be between 440-and under 5oo...this is my first BB so still sorting a few details out..in the end will let my builder have final say...the 451 source kit is nice and like the modifications on thier crank...will also have the 3x2 to deal with as well to throw into the mix.. with my engine builder and fella thats refurbishing the 3x2 on diffrent ends of the country and me on the other thinking will just give each of them each others phone no and let them sort it out...hate shoemakers who stick thier nose where it shouldnt be thus not puttin mine in there to much...know l have the rest of the drive train to deal with but thats childs play once engine and tranny are sorted..not to worry will be asking lotsa questions..only doing this once...l think
