I respect your opinion on that jyrki, but an 8" is way to much for a street/strip car like mine! Yes, to hit 11's.....your right!
My trans and converter are IDEAL for my goals. Yes, I could have gone with a 4.30 gear, but the 4.10 is somewhat livable on the street. It is hard to want a car for racing, but want to drive safely on the street!
To replay AGAIN, (sorry) I built my car to go low to mid 12's....AND I DID! I'd be lie-ing if I said I did not want to hit 11.90's. I DO!
Dana's right, I need a SEAL for that scoop! I'll just need to play with the tuning more. I think I can make it without major changes! Hey....I still need this project FINISHED! $$$$$$$$ Tony P.
Tony,i thing you are going in the right direction in staying w/the 4:10s and sealing off that hood.FREE HP never hurt anyone. You could even fatten them jets up a bit with fresh air coming in.It's amazing how underhood temps affect carb tuning.Have you tried running synthetic fluids such as ROYAL PURPLE,RED LINE,etc. in the rear, tranny and engine. For about a hundred bucks, this is cheap HP.LARGE pulleys on the alt.or a SWITCH to cut off the ALT. when you are STAGEING.Can anyone else throw some idea's for ALMOST FREE HP.You would'nt believe how much HP it takes to turn a power steering pump at 6,000 rpm.Thats easy to unhook at the track,or even loosen, so it just slips.Just make sure you have a check list to go over before heading home, cause when you have that TROPHY sittin on the front pass. seat, you tend to be in a different ZONE.......GOOD LUCK! !drive Glen

I have manual steering and brakes. The trophy means little to me as bracket racing is NOT FOR ME! The fluids? Yea, I thought about them, but told myself....NAH! Tony P.
