Well Dana, I'm being bugged by Satan to run a fuel cell and battery re-location. That does bother me because I wanted to keep my car more streetable. After spending about $600.00 on the B body gas tank and 3/8" sender, I would have to sell it and get the fuel cell stuff. OH BOY! What you think bout' dat? Tony P.

I don't think you need a cell imo. Weld in a sump and your as good as a cell...
Recipe for 11.0's in your ride.
Heads:
- CNC ported 310 cfm, should be 30-40 cfm over yours currently... - Max wedge port windows - Mill for compression, 11.0+, watch for piston to valve cleareance.
Intake:
RPM off, Victor On.
Carb:
1000 cfm dom or HP your choice.
Cam:
620 ish roller with 260-270 duration...
Headers:
2-2.1/8" Custom headers
Converter:
4500-5000 9.5" tight, brand of your choice
Tires:
As wide as humanly possible. 325/50/15 if your gonna keep the DR's and the 4.10's. Should be enough room with just the springs relocated.
Rear End:
Geared to match tire height and still be 10% over peak hp at the stripe.
Weight:
Well you pretty much covered it. Ditch anything thats not needed to run the car lol.
This is assuming your keeping the bottom end the way it is. Otherwise toss in a 4.15 crank and new pistons and let it eat !thumb

As for me I'm not that ambitious yet lol.
528 out, 557 in Noname slippling POS 10.5" 3800 out, 42-4500 PTC 9.5" in BFG DR's off, MT DR's on And I'm gonna lower the back end of the car some, hopefully around 2 or so inches for some better weight transfer...

Couple of problems there bro! I already have 11.1 compression. Your forgetting that I started out with a "383" block. Even .030" over, valves to big for high lift cams.....hense....why I had to stay around .510" lift! MM wanted to stick a 550" lift, then I told Mike: "aren't you forgetting my BORE SIZE?" guy????? IE....valve notches in the cylinder walls! YIKES! If I remember right, the had to notch the max wedge engines for the bigger exhaust valves!
The Victor may be taller than the RPM. I'm at the limit NOW! 1000 carb and 2" + headers are WAY TO BIG for 431 cubes! Come on now!

If I did the "451" stroker, then ALL your power ideas would work great!
I don't think my traction is an issue now as you said back then.
I currently DO shift at 6,500 RPM!
Your right Dana.....I should stop being LAZY and DROP the tank this winter for a sump job! Your also right on the hood seal. I do not think I can seal good at the back of the hood! Did you?
I have not messed with timing OR jetting yet, but do not think I'm that bad by tail pipe color. Tony P.

ET goal? I REALLY wanted 11.90's on the current set up! Not because your at 12.03's (but it would have been great to see your face! ) but because I always wanted to say I'm in the 11's with a HEAVY C body!
Thinking on what I saw at Norwalk in the "SPORTSMAN CLASS" Saturday, alot of the A & B cars were open header with race mods in the low 12's! Tony P.

Sorry, I got cut short on my lunch break! Continuing......what I meant to say is, from what I saw running in that class in the A & B cars was slightly preped more for strip racing, and most averaged from 12.05 to 12.80's. The cars that WERE in the 11's........most seemed to run 11.70's from what I saw, were B body with the cages and such.....but their MPH's were not much higher than you and I! A 112 here, a 113 there.
I DO NOT want a cage.....PERIOD! Having said that, I reafirmed my pride in running a 12.31 @ 110 mph with FULL EXHAUST and DRAG RADIAL street tires, including street trim like heater/wipers/horns, and staying with B bodies that are gutted/open headered at the track! If I could hit 11.90's.......WOW! Tony P.

According to my experience, you don't need very big headers. I think in many cases people rather have too big roimaries, than too small. I believe in calculating the size according to about where the rpm fall after the shift. thast's where the rpm stays the longest. And in a heavy car, you need all the power you can get in the take off to make it run, so the gearing must be close to perfect so, that your trap rpm is a couple of hundred more than the peak power or even shift rpm. And same with the converter, a 8" is the way to go. If I understood it correctly, this is a 3.75" stroke 383? I think that with a cam in the 260 + and .62" lift range, it likes to have the stall at about 5000 ro maybe even a bit higher. So, it will be a 8" unit.
