that's not what I was refering to,,you have a pretty smile that fits you,,and is a breath of freash air,,so don't take it personaly,I am not asking for inaproprate pics,so leave yours alone please,,I got off work hot and tired and was scroling through and the pic just jumped out ,,and it does seem out of place,,to me . But maybe that's just my opinion,so don't go getting everyone upset with me because you change your pic because of my opinion.

i am starting to think having an avatar pic of myself is also inappropriate, so i also am changing it and putting only my car
Gotta say you take Yeep way to serious sometimes...
I've using 15w40 Delo lately...no complaints and better yet no flat lobes...

i am knowing Mr. Micheals and i like Mr. Micheals. From someone who talks about everything from furys to flatuance and always puts a smile on my face. i was only worried that only cars were wanted for avatars, i did not even think anything about hooters, because i know that is what men want to see, its nature, no big deal. everyone thought i took offense to that...............no way
Point is there is no problem here..........(*****kiss on the cheek for Mr. Michaels****) Mr.Michaels PMed me to clarify and we are good.

and also i use Valvoline 5w30 in everything and never had any problems, when you think that these rating measure the microscopic "ball bearings" so to say, that make oil have its lubing property, it makes sense to use onr with 5 "small bearing" and the 30 (bigger bearing) considering the viscosity changes in temp. like here in colorado we have hot summers ( 85- 104) and cold winters (-10 - 40) thats a big range. too big for 10w30 to cover in my opinion

Good informative thread. I was in the local department store last week and noticed most if not all of the engine oils are now API SN classified. So now I will have to start using additives to my oil changes.
ok fellas, would my 67 imperial 440 need this additive, just got it and put in 15w40 kendall to run thru and clean it up some. was sitting for 15 years mostly and oil was thick and blk. but it has great pressure and no smoking on the 58800 miler

A stock 440? Not likely. My stock vehicles of 360 65 F100 (60,000), 410 67 Park Lane (153,000), 289 68 Mustang (15,000) and 360 73 Polara (75,000) all use either 15W-40 Delo or 10W-30 Defy giving me at 1000ppm of what they need. Know others who have been doing this for years with no troubles either. I would say an older well broken in engine would have no issues with the camshaft/lifters. My 68 302 Cougar (25,000) does run a higher lift cam with higher pressure springs so that car only sees Valvoline VR-1 10W-30.

I was in Auto Zone the other day and noticed Quaker State now has an oil out called DEFY that is supposed to be formulated to cause less wear - especially in older cars. It has 1200 ppm (hope I got the correct abbreviation) of zinc. Has anyone seen/tried it? Seems like it would be just what the 'doctor' ordered.
