Hey everybody, just put the Scarebird disc brake kit on my 66 Fury wagon with a dual res. M/C and the factory drum/drum booster and the brake pedal is really soft, i dont have any brake pressure until the pedal is almost an inch off the floor.Im using the factory dist. block for the front and have an adj. prop valve for the rear and ive tried to adjust the booster pushrod but if i go to far with the pushrod the brakes drag,so is there something else i can adjust or change to get the pedal feel back?

i bench bled the M/C and bled the brakes three times its really starting to get on my nerves.Im trying to find a booster but nobdy has a disc booster available, would a 78 Diplomat booster fit? Also mine has the field installed bracket, dont know if that makes any diiference. This is my first Mopar and i didnt have any idea how hard it would be to find parts for this car!!! Im gonna try and bleed the brakes AGAIN and see if maybe there is sum air in there. [ Edited Tue Apr 12 2011, 04:43PM ]
Just a though. Scrap the power set up and go with manual. I did on my fury and it is far better than power. My 02 there. You always have brakes. Try to stop one of these guys with power brakes when your motor is not running. I got my kit from SSBC. As for your question. I had the same issue with my car when I first set it up. I had to re bench bleed my master. After that. Every thing worked great.
I don't know what the community might think about this, but once a buddy and I did a "on-the-car bench bleed", with the helper on the pedal you quickly crack open the brake line fittings on the master, let a bit of fluid (and hopefully some air) out, then quickly tighten the fitting before releasing the pedal.
This was on a junk farm vehicle where we didn't care where we got brake fluid, so one would have to take appropriate precautions otherwise...
