I'm wondering about the front seat in this car. I'm sure it has been changed but not being real knowledgeable on these I thought I'd ask. Every 79 300 I've seen had red leather buckets with a console/ floor shift. The rear seat looks like the correct red leather but the front seat is cloth. The front seat is easy to change but am I correct about all 300's being floor shifts? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200556699229&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

When my '67 Sport Fury got ruined, I looked around for a '70's equivalent to my Fury. I had looked at some Magnums and some Cordoba bodied 300s before ending up with a J-body Cordoba. To me the front seats are from a Cordoba but not a 300. The style of the seat and the non matching cloth is the giveaway. All the 300's I looked at had floor shifted automatics with a console/red bucket seats.
It would be interesting to see the VIN decoded. It's an odd car to be sure. If it's a 300, the front seats are not original. The column shift would be odd too based on the cars I've seen. [ Edited Mon Dec 20 2010, 10:51PM ]

All 79 300 had the E58 360 4bbl engine, dual exhausts,9-1/4 rear with HD suspension including rear sway bar. Same goes for the buckets/console,and engine turned dash applique. Anybody can bolt on the alloy 300 wheels, door panels, and grille. The real 79 300 had red and blue pinstripes on the sides, hood, and trunk. Most came with tilt steering with the two spoke wheel. My gut says it is not a real 300.

I'd say it's a Cordoba with some 300 parts on it. There's alot of 300 specific parts that are missing: quarter emblems, fender louvers, white bumper rub strips.

Back seat, door panels, and grille appear to be 300, but that is it.
Wrong striping, wheels, air cleaner applique, lack of the red/white/blue medallions under the opera windows, no dash "300" indications...Just a slightly dressed-up Cordoba with a handful of '79 300 parts.
