I took my Fury for its first real test drive this past weekend after the car sat for 5 years. I did over 10 minutes of warm up. I checked for leaks before the test drive. Found none. I drove 10 miles, including highway speeds. After test drive, I again checked for leaks while Fury running and found none. I left the car in my garage. I came back an hour later and found a puddle under the power steering gear. Power steerng oil was low when I got the car. I think the steering gear leaking after the car sits is an ongoing problem. I was going to have my wife turn the steering wheel side to side while I watch the steering gear. I think the leak might be around the control valve. Is there a place I can buy a new control valve gasket? Or does a leak around this valve mean I need a new valve? Could this also be a problem with the pressure relief valve in the power steering pump? If anyone has any insight, I'd be glad to have it. Thanks for all your help, Ben

I had a problem with an 'invisible' power steering fluid leak after I had the suspension rebuilt on my Fury. It was almost impossible to find, even by the mechanics who had just worked on it. They finally figured out there was a hairline fracture in a part on the steering box attached to the steering wheel shaft. It was such a hairline crack it couldn't be seen by the naked eye and left no visible oil drips/leaks. They only found it because they happened to see/feel an almost invisible spray of power steering fluid coming from it when the car was running. It was very strange. They were able to replace the part - I don't remember the name of the part but it fit on the top of the steering box almost like a flange. Don't know if you are having the same kind of problem but maybe it will provide a couple clues.

There are also a couple of seals or o rings that get hard and crack from age. One culpret is where the res and pump join and also where the pinion adn steering shafts comes out.
The front seal of the gear box on my brother's car is leaking like a axe wound. I have one on order from NAPA and will have my mechanic knock it out as soon as he gets back from vacation. Not a fun job to do on your back. Trust me, I know, and will not make that mistake twice.

Don't know if I will get to this problem this weekend. Thank you for the suggestions though. I think Baron 300 might be closet with the hairline crack in the control valve. Maybe the hairline crack and the contour of the k-frame allows the power steering fluid to puddle somewhere and then spill onto the garage floor an hour later.
