OK guys, I've not been around for a while on here and my C Body project has been stalled for that time.
I want to get the car converted to a 440 before it goes back on the street. It has a 318 and A904 right now. Basically, I need to know what parts I need. I am in the UK so almost everything needs to be shipped and I can't just go to the bone yard and pick over a junk C body.
I have a buddy who has a 70-or-so 440 out of a Jensen Interceptor with the 727 trans.
I presume I'm going to need a drive shaft making or shipping.
i will need a larger radiator.
I did hear the motor mounts are the same for LA, B and RB. Is this true?
You will need to ensure the motor/trans you're putting in has the correct kick down linkage. You will need to have you driveshaft redone, since the 727 is longer, so you could have yours shortened, but watch out for mismatched U-joint sizes--big blocks use larger one to handle the torque
Other things I can think of are: thicker torsion bars, and a disc brake upgrade would help stop it after you make it go faster! [ Edited Thu Aug 19 2010, 05:14PM ]

Not sure what oil pan the Jensens used but look to make sure it is a center sump with a notch for the idler arm to clear. You will have to redo some of the wireing like extending the distributer wires but nothing worth getting the whole harness.

Thanks for the feedback. The deal on the jensen V8 includes the driveshaft so I can get a hybrid one made up from the two by a local engineering company.
I hadn't thought about the sump!
brakes are on my list of things to look at....
I definitely need the Schumacher mounts then? I had heard a rumour they weren't really needed.
